UNDERGRADUATE ADVISING HOURS
Spring 2023 Update:
Virtual Advising Options from Monday - Friday:
- Primary Option: Virtual Advising Center
- Secondary Option (for more complex questions) - Questions must be submit via the Virtual Advising Center first: Schedule Zoom or In-Person Advising Appointment
In-Person Drop-In Advising:
Starting April 3rd, you may stop by to meet with an advisor at the
Political Science Department administrative offices (Social Sciences Building 301) during the following times:
- Tuesdays: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM (PST)
- Wednesdays: 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM (PST)
Starting April 3rd, Virtual Drop-ins will be offered via Zoom during the following times:
- Thursdays: 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM (PST) Virtually via Zoom
Remote: sign in to your Virtual Advising Center (VAC), select "Meet with Advisor," scroll to "Political Science." and you will be placed in the Political Science advisors' queue for a Zoom meeting.
Please actively watch the queue for a notification that it is your turn. You will have 5 minutes to join and then the advisor will move on to the next student and you will wait until you can be seen.
Fifteen (15) minute drop-in sessions can address simple inquiries related to the financial aid appeal forms, max unit appeal forms, current quarter planning, enrollment inquiries.
Don't forget to also refer to the
PoliSci undergraduate website for detailed information about our programs. And the
VAC will also continue to be available for you to submit your questions.
Online advising available Monday through Friday via the Virtual Advising Center (VAC). Most questions can be answered there; however, advisors are open to Zoom meetings when necessary. Advisors will work with students to schedule a Zoom meeting during a time when they and the student are both available.
The Department does not provide advising available over the telephone or e-mail. If you are not yet a student at UCSD, please send e-mail to askpolisci@ucsd.edu. Current students who e-mail or call with advising questions will be directed to the VAC or walk-in advising.
