Visiting Faculty and Scholars


The Department of Political Science is committed to excellence in research and education. As part of this, we welcome visiting scholars and instructors from around the world to collaborate with our faculty and teach our students in order to enhance the vibrant intellectual community and pedagogical diversity on campus.

Visiting Scholars Program

The Department's Visiting Scholars Program provides opportunities for qualified scholars from around the world to collaborate with our faculty, access research resources, and participate in UCSD events. We are no longer accepting applications for the current year. To be considered for a visit commencing next academic year, complete application files must be received by December 1. Visiting Instructional Faculty

Faculty and other scholars who are interested in teaching in the Department are invited to submit applications. Appointments are based on the qualifications of the candidates and the department's instructional needs in a given year. Those who hold a professorial appointment at another institution are invited to review our application procedures for Visiting Professors. Those who do not, need apply when we are conducting an open Lecturer search. Postings for such openings are listed on our recruitment page.
