J. Lawrence Broz

Department Chair / Professor of Political Science

Broz is professor of political science at the University of California, San Diego and Associate Director of the Center for Commerce and Diplomacy at UCSD’s School of Global Policy and Strategy. His field is political economy, and he focuses on international organizations, trade politics, and global financial relations.  Broz studies the institutions that govern trade, monetary and financial relations – the World Trade Organization, the International Monetary Fund, central bank cooperation, and exchange rate systems. His work has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, the Annual Review of Political Science, Economics and Politics, Explorations in Economic History, International Organization (9X), and the Review of International Organizations.
