I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the
University of California, San Diego. I earned my Ph.D. from New York
University, and have previously taught at the University of Pittsburgh.
My research interests cut across the fields of comparative politics,
positive political theory and political economy. They include the study of
institutional design/change and of the effects of political institutions
on policy outcomes. My primary focus is on Latin American countries.
My work has been published in the American Journal of Political Science,
the British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies,
and Comparative Politics.
