Hill studies American politics, political methodology, voting behavior, and campaigns and elections with specific interest in political advertising, the determinants of voting and turnout, and corruption. His methodological interests include the use and statistical analysis of large-scale data in political science. His published work has appeared or is forthcoming in the American Political Science Review, Quarterly Journal of Political Science, World Politics, and the Election Law Journal. He held a postdoctoral appointment at Yale from 2010 to 2012 and received his Ph.D. from UCLA.
